FAQ - LASH LIFT
WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that is designed to create longer-looking lashes without the need for lash extensions. This technique uses silicone shields to lift the lashes from the root. This creates a subtle, natural-looking lift and, combined with a tint, gives the illusion of length, fullness and making the eyes appear more open. Lash Lift lasts as long as the lash does, so as the natural lashes shed to be replaced with new ones, you will eventually need a repeat procedure. Typically this lasts 6 weeks with proper aftercare but a repeat procedure can be done after 4 weeks if you so wish as everyone's lash cycle is at different stages.
WHY CHOOSE LASH LIFT?
Very low maintenance as no touch-ups are required.
A faster application time compared to eyelash extensions.
Ideal for clients who already have long lashes, but only need more of a curl.
A lower-cost compared to eyelash extensions.
Ideal for clients with active lifestyles as the aftercare is not as strict as with extensions.
Budget friendly.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
Be aware that your eyes will be closed for the duration of the appointment so if you have contacts, it may be advisable to remove them.
IS THERE DOWNTIME WITH LASH LIFT?
None whatsoever but avoid getting your lashes wet or wearing mascara for at least 24 hours.
IS LASH LIFT RIGHT FOR ME?
Lash lift is most effective for those with already mid to long length lashes that are straight. The lift will show off the full length of the existing lash. Shorter lashes can benefit from Lash Lift but the results are not as effective as with longer lashes.
Allergies or reactions to the Lash Lift solutions are rare but not impossible. This is why you can opt to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand. A patch test is quick and simple. It consists of the therapist placing 2 drops of lotions behind the ear for 15 minutes. Wiping it off and waiting to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hours such as redness, itching or inflammation, for example.

Lash Lift is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While it is not dangerous to mom or baby, hormonal changes within the body can affect the structure of the hairs which can then affect the results.

Your natural lash cycle also plays a part in the longevity of the treatment. If you have a lot of lashes at the end of their cycle that are ready to shed, you may notice a faster drop in the Lash Lift. There is no way to control this though and it is luck of the draw.
CLIENT AFTERCARE FOR LASH LIFT?
For the first 24 hours:
Comb your lashes upwards with the brush provided, daily.
Do not wet your lashes.
Do not rub your eyes vigorously.
Do not apply any mascara.
Do not apply any oil or cream-based products over the lashes.
Do not make use of a sauna or facial steamer.
Do not swim.
Do not make use of a sunbed.
After 24 hours you can continue to wash your eyes and use eye make-up and mascara as normal. Avoid waterproof mascara as it is harsher on the lashes when being cleaned. For best results, care for your lashes correctly by following this aftercare advice. The treatment will last 6-8 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle. It is recommended to use a lash growth serum on a daily basis.
